Government Aviation Training Institute

A Pathway To Your Career

Founded by the honorable Captain Bijayananda (Biju) Patnaik on 14th September 1946, the Orissa Flying Club at Bhubaneshwar, was one of the early and premier flying institutions of India. It was his dream, that the young men and women of Orissa be at the forefront, to train and become professional pilots of independent India. Since 1946, Orissa Flying Club has been a breeding ground for professional and recreational pilots. Initially a pursuit of the privileged, the club was more of a social and hobby center with the alumni engaged in flying in different parts of the world. Orissa Flying Club had a name and a presence nationally.

What Does it Takes

Knowledge

Knowledge is specific information required to enable a learner to develop and apply the skills and attitudes to recall facts, identify concepts, apply rules or principles, solve problems, and think creatively in the context of work.

Skills

A skill is an ability to perform an activity or action. It is often divided into three types: motor, cognitive and metacognitive skills.

Attitude

Attitude is a persistent internal mental state or disposition that influences an individual’s choice of personal action toward some object, person or event and that can be learned. Attitudes have affective components, cognitive aspects and behavioural consequences. To demonstrate the “right” attitude, a learner needs to “know how to be” in a given context.
