AFRINAT, was first established in 1993, but started providing scheduled services within West Africa in 2002. The carrier was based in Banjul International Airport, Gambia. Afrinat started with two aircraft, one Boeing 747 (411 passengers, 32 in business) and one Boeing 767 (250 passengers, 32 in business). In April 2003, Afrinat started daily flights connecting New York and Banjul, and serving as a regional hub to West African countries (Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon). However, Afrinat Airline, like many other airlines, wound up its operations as a results of market conditions out of their control in 2004. AFRINAT experienced a rebirth in 2013 as an airline of beauty, excitement and inspiration. The company announced plans to launch services from Accra to JFK airport, New York, USA, and between Accra and London, U.K, with a spacious state-of-the-art 777-300 aircraft. The neighboring countries took note and cleared the way for the regional jet to serve the West African nations of Ghana, Cameroon, Gambia and other East African countries, such as Zimbabwe and Namibia as well as new destinations. Afrinat International Airlines Limited is a wholly owned Ghanaian registered company, with registration number, CS350152014, and TIN C0003138321. Afrinat has obtained Air carrier License (ACL) from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and has been assigned designator 2F by IATA. Afrinat also has a license agreement with WorldTicket A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark and airline participating agreement with Travelport, Berkshire UK. The introduction of its services has been planned and programmed over a five-year period commencing in August 2018. The scheduled services will be complemented with commercial agreements with regional airlines both in Accra and New York to provide feeder and distribution services to the main operations. We are excited to bring to the industry an afford-able alternative to other carriers. Come on! Check us out as we take to the skies.
