- Now in it's 49th year, Flying Scotchman provides general aviation services as a fixed base operator at Crystal Airport, Brooklyn Park, MN (KMIC). A flying club as well as a flight school, we provide 100-hour and annual inspections as well as excellent maintenance support for many types of aircrafts.
Flying Scotchman has established a 49-year history of service to the aviation community. We have grown to become a full service facility with an enviable safety record.
We began in 1959 with one Piper J-3 Cub and have expanded into a full service FBO offering a fleet of six aircrafts for your rental.

What it takes to become a Private Pilot:
-Desire to achieve what many people just dream about
-Be able to pass an FAA third class medical exam (we’ll provide you with a list of local doctors).
-Be able to speak, read, and understand English - the international language of aviation.
-Be 16 years of age for solo; 17 years of age for license
-Obtain the minimum amount and type of flight training.
-Pass FAA written test.
-Pass FAA oral and flight tests.

FlyIreland Virtual
- FlyIreland Virtual was set up in August 2010. The virtual was for users of any Flight Simulator's simulating the operations of the an airline. Our goal is to ensure that Flight Simulator enthusiasts like the founders are set out to witness and take an active role in developing many new skills and widening their knowledge to help them in the game and life as well giving them a bigger insight into the aviation industry.
